Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated June 2026

1. Purpose

This policy sets out what can and cannot be listed or done on Campus Trade, a peer-to-peer classifieds platform exclusively for students at Ghanaian universities. It applies to every seller, buyer, and listing on the platform.

2. Eligibility

Campus Trade is restricted to current students at recognised Ghanaian universities and tertiary institutions. Each account must select a university at signup. One account per person. Accounts found to be duplicate, fake, or impersonating another person will be suspended.

3. Prohibited items

The following may never be listed on Campus Trade:
  • Weapons, firearms, ammunition, or replicas of these
  • Illegal drugs, controlled substances, or drug paraphernalia
  • Alcohol or tobacco products
  • Prescription medication or any pharmaceutical product
  • Stolen goods, or items the seller cannot prove ownership of
  • Counterfeit, pirated, or unlicensed branded goods
  • Live animals
  • Hazardous, flammable, or otherwise dangerous materials
  • Adult, sexual, or explicit content or services
  • Gambling-related items or services
  • Academic dishonesty services, including paid assignment writing, exam impersonation, or ghostwriting of theses/dissertations
  • Multi-level marketing schemes, pyramid schemes, or “get rich quick” offers
  • Financial products requiring licensing, including loans, forex trading, or cryptocurrency trading
  • Any item or service that is illegal under Ghanaian law

4. Prohibited conduct

Users may not:
  • Post fake, misleading, or duplicate listings
  • Misrepresent the condition, authenticity, or ownership of an item
  • Harass, threaten, or scam another user
  • Request payment before a buyer has been able to inspect an item in person
  • Share another user's personal information without consent
  • Attempt to create multiple accounts to evade a suspension or ban
  • Use the platform for any unlawful purpose

5. Review and enforcement

Every listing submitted to Campus Trade is manually reviewed by a trained approver or administrator before it is published — no listing goes live automatically. Listings that violate this policy are rejected with a reason, or removed if discovered after publishing.

Users can report any listing they believe is fake, fraudulent, mispriced, inappropriate, or duplicated. Reports are reviewed by the Campus Trade admin team.

Depending on severity, enforcement may include:
  • Rejection or removal of the listing
  • A warning to the user's account
  • Temporary suspension
  • Permanent ban from the platform
Campus Trade reserves the right to report suspected illegal activity to the appropriate authorities.

6. Buyer and seller responsibility

Campus Trade is a listings platform only. We do not process payment for items sold, take possession of items, or arrange shipping. All sales happen directly and in person between buyer and seller. Buyers are strongly advised to physically inspect any item before making payment. Campus Trade is not responsible for the outcome of transactions between buyers and sellers.
